MassTransfer Gen Ed Foundation

Achieve your college dreams at a more affordable cost by starting out with the MassTransfer Gen Ed Foundation!

The MassTransfer Gen Ed Foundation is a block of courses that meet the general education requirements of all Massachusetts public four-year universities. This set of 34 credits will transfer into any major at Salem State University. An associate's degree is not a requirement to achieve the MassTransfer Gen Ed Foundation, however, the credits can also apply towards most associate's degrees.

MassTransfer Associate to Bachelor's Degrees (A2B)

Graduate from a Massachusetts Community College MassTransfer program and secure guaranteed admission to Salem State University to complete your junior and senior years with no application fees. 

MA Commonwealth Commitment Program

Complete your associate's degree at a Massachusetts Community College in an approved Commonwealth Commitment program and transfer to Salem State University as a full-time student and save thousands of dollars on your bachelor's degree.

MassTransfer Scholarship

Students transferring directly to Salem State University within one year of graduation from a Massachusetts State Community College with a MassTransfer associate's degree and a GPA of 3.0 will be eligible for a scholarship equal to the amount of in-state day tuition. Students must enroll as a day student, and stay continuously enrolled for the full four semesters of eligibility. In order to maintain the scholarship for the second year of study, students must continue as a day student and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 at Salem State.
