faculty information
Disability Services is introducing Accommodate – an accommodation management system that allows you to manage accommodations for the students in your courses all in one location. Here you can view accommodation letters as well as manage any alternative testing accommodation requests.
We are proud to partner with faculty, staff and administrators across campus to provide our students an accessible education.
Faculty Notification
If a student with a disability is registered for your class and is requesting an accommodation, they will provide you with a confidential accommodation approval letter. You will also be able to the view letters for your students in the Accommodate database.
Testing Accommodation Requests
Students requesting testing accommodations should connect with their faculty members to discuss the best arrangement for the requested accommodations. If the student is needing to take their test or quiz in our office, they will fill out a testing request in accommodate. You will receive an email notifying you of the students request and prompting you to fill out the required information regarding proctoring.
Confidentiality
Disability-related information should be treated as medical information and handled under the same strict rules of confidentiality. Learn more about your confidentiality responsibilities as a faculty member.
Grievance Procedure
Disability services understands that there are times when a disagreement on a decision regarding accommodations may arise, or problems during the process of receiving accommodations that have already been determined. Learn about the grievance process and how to file a grievance.
Rights and Responsibilities
As an educator to our diverse student body, you have many rights and responsibilities related to students with disabilities.
