This page is meant to guide you from the end of orientation to the start of the new semester. There's a lot to remember as you start your college journey, and we're here to support you!
Have you made it official?
This page is for new students who have made their deposit and completed orientation. If you just received your acceptance letter, congratulations! Make sure you complete the steps outlined on the accepted students page to officially becoming a Salem State Viking.
Getting Ready for the Semester
(First-year students only.) You'll receive a copy of this year's First Year Reading Experience book at orientation. You'll be discussing the book in small groups following Academic Convocation, so be sure to read it over the summer!
You can purchase your commuter parking pass beginning in August through Navigator. Once you make your purchase, you'll receive a temporary parking pass by email to use while your decal is being shipped. Find out more about parking on campus.
You can reserve your textbooks at the bookstore prior to the start of class by visiting them online.
Complete your immunization requirements with counseling and health services. Access the requirements and forms online. You can upload documents using the health portal located in Navigator, or mail/ fax to the office. Make sure the documentation has been received by checking the student health portal.
