Center for Justice and Liberation

The Center for Justice and Liberation serves as a comprehensive, collaborative, community space that honors, centers, and advocates for the holistic development and retention of students that are underrepresented, marginalized, and stigmatized due to oppressive structures.

How

We supervise and support the student-led, identity-based organizations on campus and organize events and programs that enhance their programming and community-building skills. We connect them to resources that boost the impact of their events and raise awareness of the issues that are most pressing to their respective communities.

Offerings

The Student Center (Ellison Campus Center, Room 202)

This is an open office/gathering space for students. Amenities include:

Event Planning Support

CJL staff offer logistical support to our students as they navigate campus systems while building their events. The CJL Presence site includes resources, documents, and forms for event planning. Our support emphasizes effective organizational structure and relationship-building with incoming student cohorts, campus resources, and community partnerships.
