Salem State's psychology research participation pool (“the pool”) provides both faculty and student researchers with access to participants by encouraging students to enroll in psychology research studies for extra credit in their psychology courses. These student participants, in return, learn about the research process by engaging with it directly. The pool is managed using Sona, a cloud-based platform that allows researchers to post studies, participants to enroll for and participate in research, and instructors to award extra credit to student participants.
