Meet the Salem State STEP Coaches
Freddy Monroy
My name is Frederick, but you all can call me Freddy. I am a first-year graduate student in the Salem State Higher Education Student Affairs program. I graduated from Merrimack College with a bachelor's in Mathematics and Teacher Education with a minor in Psychology in 2023. After experiencing many on-campus opportunities from working in Admissions, the tutoring and math center, being a part of Student government, and being a part of the Orientation team at Merrimack, I landed on pursuing a master's degree in Higher Education Student Affairs. I switched my major and track at least two different times in my undergrad. I was also born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and I am excited to meet all of you.

Rachel was born and raised in MA and attended Wheaton College in Norton. As an undergrad, she studied sociology and public policy. She just moved back to the state after a few years of living in Juneau, Alaska so she could pursue her MSW at Salem State and be closer to family. Outside of work and school she enjoys singing, acting, and performing as drag king, Oliver Garden. She loves her cat, Tilly, ice cream, Bobs Burgers, and a good mystery.
